An extreme environment takes strength, both emotional and physical, but even so the odds are not in a survivor's favor. With that said, there are those who rise to the occasion. Nando Parrado and his crew, from "I Will Survive", and Aron Ralston , from "127 Hours", are evidence. Nando and his crew had survived a plane crash, and continued to survive in the bitter, cold Andes for 72 days. While, Aron survived a 800 boulder crushing his arm, trapping him in an isolated slot canyon, alone, and without resources for five and have days. Struggling to make decisions, that challenge their beliefs and goes against their instincts, and having to survive in an extreme environment in their particular situation are the two major challenges Nando and Aron face as they stretch themselves to adapt, surviving only by clinging to their will to survive. In " I Will Survive", Nando and his crew struggle with the cold, depression, and lack of resources. According to Nando, " The cold and mental shock we had endured, along with the depression and fear we all were feeling, acted to curb our appetites." Clearly, the environmental atmosphere were far from ideal and none of the survivor had positive opinions, regarding it. Aron, in "127 Hours" also had to face an isolated, cold environment as he is trapped, by a boulder, unable to escape. The canyon land at night was described as "...cold and frightening place...[where] a cry for help would be met with only silence." Although, the conditions were similar, in terms of difficulty to survive, and both groups lacked necessities, unlike Nando, Aron did not have a crew. He endured the dark, cold environment by himself, without help, but was able to avoid the tension seen in " I Will
