I Believe Essay A very famous French poet, Victor Hugo once said, “People do not lack strength; They lack will.” My interpretation of this quote is that one does not need to be the smartest, the strongest, the nicest, the only thing that matters is determination and willpower. I believe that any realistic goal is achievable, the only thing needed is the right mindset and determination to do it. Having the “right mindset” means that someone is willing to put an end to their bad habits and change them into positive ones. These people are also dedicated and diligent because they are showing hard work and loyalty to obtain success. If someone wants to get straight A’s in school, but is always negative about school and never studies, they’re not truly determined to achieve that goal. It all starts with commitment and perseverance. When I used to take Taekwondo classes I was doing everything I could to be prepared to earn my black-belt. Even though I was extremely busy with school and Track, I still managed to sneak my testing in late May. The main part that put my testing in a hiatus was the fact that I sprained my ankle terribly the week before the testing was scheduled. I still managed to push on because I was that committed and determined to get my black-belt and I was able succeed in the end. I also didn’t give up either, I was able to exhibit perseverance by still continuing to participate in my testing despite being extremely busy and while being injured. By having perseverance and commitment, it shows that one is dedicated. By having all of these traits, it will be able to help a lot in the end to attain
