Would you still fight for a cause if you had a death threat to you from a terrorist group? When the Taliban threatened Malala Yousafzai, she didn’t back down and kept protesting for a woman’s right to get an education. She actually survived a gunshot and ended up writing a few books. She wrote the book I Am Malala : The Girl Who Stood Up For Education and Was Shot by the Taliban with help from Christina Lamb, a foreign correspondent. Malala was born in Mingora, Pakistan on July 12, 1997. She became the youngest person to receive the Nobel Peace Prize. Malala Yousafzai was born and lived in Mingora until 2012. She is the daughter of Ziauddin and Toor Pekai Yousafzai. Malala has two younger brothers, one who is 14 and one who is 9 years old. Malala attended Khushal School, which was founded by her father, for 9 years. She strongly thought women should be allowed to be educated, so she became a Pakistani activist for female education. …show more content…

She tried to keep her identity a secret by using the pen name Gul Makai, when she wrote for the BBC Urdu. The Taliban still found out who she was and targeted her. On the morning of October 9, 2012, two men stopped her school bus and got on. They were asking for Malala, but no one was going to give her up purposely. A few girls turned around to look at her and one of the men saw them. He found Malala by following their stares and walked up to her and shot at her 3 times. Only one shot hit Malala.
