I Am David This story is Written by Anne Holm , about a boy named David who escapes a camp that he has lived in his entire life. He is needed to get to Denmark where he is safe. Along the way David meets many people and makes some new friends. In this story you can tell that david is brave, smart, and self-confident and these character traits are placed all over in the book. One of David’s character traits is brave. David is brave because he saved a little girl, named Maria, from inside a burning shed where she was tied up. David is also brave because he steps up in front of people even though he doesn’t know if he or she is one of “them”. Finally, another reason David is brave is when he walks into a town even though he is afraid that he might be caught. Brave is just one of David’s amazing character traits. The …show more content…

David is self-confident because when people offer him money, he doesn’t take it because he wants to earn the money himself. Also, David is self-confident because he gets angry when people try to tell him what to do. An example is when Maria’s family tells him to go home with them to pay him for saving Maria;s life, he only goes because Maria wanted him to. Finally, David is self-confident because if he knows it is dangerous he doesn’t do it and if he knows it is not dangerous he thinks about doing it. An example is when David doesn’t want to go with the england family because they don’t look like they are normal to David. So, as you now know, David is very brave, smart, and self-confident. David escapes the camp and he never would've made it to denmark if it wasn’t for his three most noticeable character traits. The overall effect of David is brave, smart, and self-confident because these traits are placed all over in the book. The book I am David is a very good book.
