Good morning parents, teachers, and fellow students. This is such a great honor for me to be up here representing the graduating class of 2018 today. Thank you so much! Can you believe we'll be going into high school next year??? Crazy, isn’t it -- Mommy, don’t cry. It seems like only yesterday that we were doing our planets projects in 3rd grade with Mrs. Foss, when Ezekiel made Neptune out of a cake, we went to the Discovery Science Center in 2nd grade, ...and of course who could forget our bus getting stranded in the middle of the forest on our Hume Lake trip? We’ll discuss that in a little bit. First, I’d like to thank all our teachers for getting us to where we are today. I’d like to thank Mr. Kennerknecht/Coach John for being someone we can talk to about our problems. I remember when Coach took us down to Midnight Mission and Agua Da Vida. It showed me a different way of life and how blessed I am. He taught us how to have a servant heart, and serve others. I learned by serving others that we are serving Jesus. Semanovich and Mrs. Mahiaini for what they’ve done. I want to thank Coach Cam, even though we don’t like the dreaded mile, for making us stronger and bringing discipline into our lives. Thank you Mrs. Miller for staying with us for all our Water of Life years. I enjoyed being in Mouse Squad with you and especially loved putting the computer together. I’d also like to remember the people who have left the school. Mr. Schlecht, Mrs. Josie, Mrs. Kavan, and others. Mrs. Kavan was a great teacher, who not only had us write A LOT, but taught us how to listen to God, especially during chapel. Finally, I’d like to thank all of our parents and family members for investing in Christian education for us. If anyone has influenced me while in the school, it is you. Every conversation with Mrs. Peterson during shop, or every discussion Mr. Pedrosa at his desk during class, I appreciate every bit of knowledge I have gained from the staff of Old Colony. As being a generally shy student, the teachers really took point in caring about me as a student and individual. They respected me, cared for me, and most importantly taught me, academically and morally. Each employee set an example of what an high school educator and human being should be. I will genuinely miss the “Hi Jazz’s,” I hear while walking down the hall whether it be from Trahan, Kessler, or Mrs. Gonet. So, thank you to all Old Colony staff for making me feel like a young adult, respecting my ideas, and guiding me in the right direction, not only academically and technically, but morally. You, as a school, have welcomed me beyond my belief and have embraced me farther than being a student but as an
Thanks Miss Smith for making Science, History, Art, Drama, and Tech amazing classes. You are a wonderful teacher who makes learning fun, and I appreciate that. Furthermore, thank you Mr. Rague. Without your help, this speech would not have been written. You push every single one of your students to do their best since you know what all of us are capable of. Also, thank you Mr. Hall. I look forward to gym every Wednesday and Monday since you make it extremely amusing. Thank you to Mr. Block as well for helping me understand math better and for leading the 7/8th grade girls to winning the championship. Lastly, thank you Mrs. Rague. As I reflect on how quickly we have moved through our last days of school, I do so reminiscent of how fast the past six years have flown by! It is with pleasure that I take this opportunity to write you and thank you, for your support in what has proven to be another busy, and successful school year. Thank you to all for your partnership, and sharing the gift of your hopes, dreams and aspirations, cleverly disguised as children!

Hello class, I want to thank you for the honor of letting me speak. Guys! We made it! At our time here I feel that we have endured through so many events. That leave great stories and memorable moments.
At the beginning of this year I never would have imagined that I would be graduating with my class, let alone giving this speech. I was nearly two years behind on credits and expecting to graduate at least a semester late. However, because of the dedicated staff at Haysville High School, I am graduating today.
My family and I did many different things throughout the week together, but the most important family activity was going to church on Sunday mornings. I grew up in the First United Methodist Church in Monett, Missouri. I have participated in various mission trips and service days as a member of this church, and I regularly shared my talents through special music. Throughout all of the obstacles that my family has faced, my church family has been our rock in which they gave their thoughts and encouraging words in times of need. My faith is a huge part of who I am, and I wouldn’t be the woman I am today without the love and support of my church
Thank you for all that you did when I was in second grade. You have taught me a lot. I still wish that you were a teacher so, then my brother could have had you. Then he would have had as much fun as I did when I was in your class. I remember all the fun times I had with you. Do you remember on some Fridays you would call your husband to find out the song so we would win? I sure do.
Class of 2012, we've finally made it, but not without the help of our parents, teachers and mentors along the way. Maybe what they did for us was that they were a good rudder and we're the ship, and they got us to the sea where we remember who we are. Because we all get in that fog, where we forget who we are or what we're about, we get overwhelmed. I mean I've been there plenty of times in my life. But we're not going to remember most of our lives until the end. But we will remember certain moments. Maybe it's our first 4.0 report card, maybe it's our first 100 percent biology test, maybe it's our first homerun, our first touchdown. Whatever it may be, it will stay with us forever. Many of us have been together through elementary, middle and high school, and we have all had to work hard and remain focused to be where we are today. All change happens in a minute. Your life changes in a moment. Something triggers you and you finally make a decision and it all shifts. As years go by, your body is going to change, your relationships are going to change, your attitude is going to change. Change is automatic, but progress is not. Our progress has brought us here tonight, and tonight will become one of those moments that we will cherish forever.
Today, as we graduate, with degree nearly in hand, I challenge each of you to make a difference in whatever you do. Remember that life didn't end when we re-entered school. Life continued throughout our program. Even when stretched to the limit, life only got more challenging. And now, graduating, life only changes pace. Our degree completion is not really an ending as much as a new beginning as we re-enter our lives of work and home. We thank all of our family, friends, instructors and co-workers who helped see us through this process. Thank you for this opportunity and good luck to you all.
First of all, I'd like to welcome all the parents, relatives and friends, on behalf of the senior class. It has been a long, hard road to graduation and I know your presence here is greatly appreciated. My job as salutatorian is to reminisce on our past here at County High, a past that reads like a script of a soap opera.
Now I would like to take the time to thank everyone who has helped me get this far. First of all, thank you to all the teachers. None of us would be here without you always pushing our academic abilities to the fullest. Jessica Parker a.k.a. my partner in crime as Mr. Tri would refer to us. You made everyday coming to school worthwhile. Hillary Laswell, who would leave third period to go steal flowers from horticulture and give them to Mrs. Granillo with me. My brother Jeramie who always said, "If anyone is mean to you, I'll take care of it." My Mom, thank you for always believing in me and putting up with me when I was a real jerk.
Valedictorian Speech Good evening fellow graduates, teachers, family members, friends, and distinguished guests. It is a tremendous honor to be the valedictorian of our graduating class. My job is to somehow be the voice of the entire graduating class, and take five minutes to say a few words on behalf of all 539 of us. Like most valedictorians, writing this speech was not an easy task for me. Not because I did not have anything to say, but because I was overwhelmed by how much I wanted to share with you all on this day. Tonight, we have one common purpose, to celebrate. We are here to congratulate, to look towards what the future holds for us, to wish each other well, and to, most importantly look back on our time spent here. So, I would like to start by saying 'well done' to my fellow graduates, who have all worked hard during the past several years to reach this milestone. I would also like to express my sincere gratitude to the graduating class for selecting me to speak here tonight. Ever since the news broke, many people, some who've I've never really met before, have come up to me and have wished me well. Perhaps this speech would be incomplete if I don’t say something to the teachers. On the behalf of my entire class, I would like to thank all my teachers: thank you. Thank you for teaching us, for leading us, for building us up as adults. I know that we have not given back to you the respect you deserve. I know that we have not told you how much we appreciate you taking time out of your schedules to help us. And I know that we have not said thank you for giving us a wonderful education. So, I hope that as I say thanks, you can forget our shortcomings and remember us for who we are and not from the mistakes we have made. ...
Let me begin by saying that I am very honored to be addressing the County High School Class of 2012 as students of this institution for the last time. We've spent these last four years creating some serious memories: four years of chieftain power, leaking roofs, questionable Homecoming skits, and musical principals. Four years of good teachers, bad teachers, new teachers, old teachers. Four years of youth, music, growing up and breaking free. Four rubber chickens, four yearbooks, four ASB presidents and four chubby bunnies.
...nd was wonderful to shop with. Michael was a perfect gentleman. Marnie was always encouraging and understanding. Nisha and Rebecca Kozitza were amusing . . . and so on. If it had not been for everyone's wonderful personalities we would not have been able to endure such cramped living spaces. The final farewell was testament to the closeness of our newly found friendships. I look forward to another alumni event. Until then, I will treasure the friends I've made.
