“Since 2004 an estimated 7 billion 9.5 billion dollars were made by human trafficking!” (United nations Pg.1). Article 1states that everyone is born free and equal. With human trafficking you can be sold into slavery. Somebody owns you so you are not free. According to the UDHR, Article 4 states that no one shall be enslaved . Almost everyone that is being sold is sold into slavery. This affects millions of people around the world. Human trafficking is a modern version of slavery. “Exploitation shall include, at a minimum, the exploitation of the prostitution of others or other forms of sexual exploitation, forced labour or services, slavery or practices similar to slavery, servitude or the removal of organs”. If you are being forced to do labor then it violates article 1 or if you are in slavery or in practices similar to slavery in is a violation of article 4. “Occurs both across borders and within a country,not just cross-border. Its for a range of exploitative purposes, not just sexual exploitation. Victimizes children, women and men, Not just women, or adults, but also men and children. Takes place with or without the involvement of organized crime groups.” The big thing with this quote is that it's not just women; it's men, women, and children which violates article 1. Educating people on what it is and how to prevent it. “Learn the red flags that may indicate human trafficking and ask follow up questions so that you can help identify a potential trafficking victim.”(20 ways Pg.1). If you learn the red flags then you can attempt to help people or notify somebody who can. ”Donate funds or needed items to an anti-trafficking organization in your area.” (20 ways Pg.1).
