The mass majority of the population has some type of connection with the world, whether it’s a social media connection or through texting. Everyone has a way to stay connected with friends and family. When posting or sharing things people are showing the fun activity they are participating in as well as having those pictures as a memory for later on in life. In a social media driven world, many don’t realize the benefits of documenting photos but instead believe that it takes away from embracing the moment, therefore taking photos helps individuals stay connected to others and hold on to the moments they enjoy most. Moreover, taking photos can help enhance the memory of Alzheimer's patients to allow them to be able to hold onto those memories they once could remember. Taking pictures is used as therapy for patients with Alzheimer’s disease because they get to relook at those memories and try to re-jog their memory to what it was to be in that moment. Trying to remember the past is a struggle for people with Alzheimer’s and simpler diseases or disorders which is why taking pictures can help rekindle that memory and help them be able to hold onto those memories through pictures if their mind can not. In fact, through our lifetime we acquire a mass amount of ways to be able to recall our events in our life later on so, we can enjoy them once again. An article concerning how to preserve memories states, “Memories are an important part of all our lives. Old letters, photographs, scrapbooks, the family bible, and many other things help us to recall our past and the history of our family and communities”
