Squirrel: I choose to put a squirrel on the top of my totem pole because it is often a message that we should take life a little less seriously and enjoy yourself more. This is often the case with me. I take life a little too seriously and forget to have fun. I get really worked up before and after tests. If I get a substandard mark, I am often too hard on myself. To put this into perspective, the results of one junior high test right now will not decide my future. Overreacting in a pessimistic manner is not a balanced way to deal with a substandard mark. A gorilla is often mistaken for an aggressive and ferocious beast, but the gorilla is a peaceful creature. Although I’m small for my age, I still look aggressive and mighty. Since, Grandview Heights is a small school, and I’m in the oldest class, some younger students might be intimidated because I’m older than them. In reality, I’m not better than them in anyway, I am a nice and welcoming kid. Gorillas have many effective ways to communicate with each other. They are symbolic for taking great honour when they communicate. I can communicate with others just with a simple gesture, it is almost like we have telepathy, I find it super neat. Along with gestures, I can read and write in two languages; French and English. This Majestic animal, like stated above, is also symbolic for loyalty and leadership. I’m, not an animal, but a leader with a loyal heart. I take superior leadership in groups projects often telling people what to do. I’m also loyal in a sense that I love the Edmonton Oilers.
