The American dream has been an ideal that every American should live by, the term was coined by our founding fathers. Our founding fathers believed that the American dream was a way to live in freedom and be independent. Over time, this definition has changed, and now in present times, it means something different for everybody.
For me, whenever I hear the phrase “American Dream”, I think of how an American should live. I believe that the American Dream is a way to be prosperous in life, you have the ability to chose whatever career you desire, and do what you can to achieve that career. At times, they feel like the world is against them, and they can not do anything about that, then they just give up. How are Americans supposed to be living in the American Dream, if they can not find the resources to live? I was privileged enough to be born into a family that has enough money to get by each day and I am lucky enough to have both my parents. I hope in the near future that I or somebody else will be able to help them achieve the American Dream. Even you are deprived of this Dream, that should not stop anybody from being able to attain the American Dream. In fact, I embody my own version of the American Dream by continuing through life every day with a willingness to achieve something greater. All through my high school career, I was driven by my will to succeed, I was able to accomplish many things. With hard work and determination I was able to be among the top of my class, and I was able to continue my studies at San Antonio College while also going to Thomas Edison high school. I competed in numerous competitions and have also done numerous community service projects around my city and in my neighborhood. With all this said and done, I was able to gain a spot among the of the class of 2020 at Baylor University, due to my accomplishments, Of course, I did not just do all this for my own well-being, but I also accomplished this so I can benefit
