How media affects women’s body image For many women media is hard to deal with; media is a major part of life. We may not notice -what the social media does to our thoughts but we end up where our self-esteem as well as our emotional state can become affected from the media. I believe that the media has a negative effect on all ages of women. There are many reasons to why we cannot accept how we are as people because of Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and advertisements; from the television to magazines which make us think we have to be a certain way to be accepted into society. Facebook has turned around completely in the past years due to cyber bullying. Negative comments are made various times on Facebook about how different an individual’s body is from another, social media is a cruel thing due to the fact that everything is opinion based or just plain hatred instead. Facebook has more supervision along with options to block friends that may be causing emotional damage. It has more of a safety aspect rather than Instagram and many other social media sites which are highly beneficial to may users and a good thing about social media.
