I never heard of this movie so I did not know what to expect. As I looked at the cover of the DVD I expected it to be similar to the horror film, Halloween. From the very beginning of the movie, I was drawn in. I could just tell from the music that something was bound to happen. It was eerie and ominous. As I watched the movie I could tell that it was filmed in a different language. The way it was translated it was obvious that the characters were not speaking English and it bothered me causing I was a little distracting. Also it seemed the color of the film was dull to give the idea that the movie was dull too. The main character, Héctor, came off as being very weird and throughout the movie, he only became weirder to me. He was very awkward
This movie was a tale of an immigrant seeking money and power who untimely set up his own demise. The producers did a good job at pointing out certain features that let you into the life of an organized crime leader. He tells of his humble beginnings and shows you in details how he rose to the top. The producer had a point to make and I took that point as being you can never get and stay someone good while being bad. The sound effects and graphics also makes this movie. They show just enough to intrigue you but yet not to completely make you sick to your stomach. The music is very telling and
This film unlike most others on the same topic had no real event to focus on. There was not just one climax or specific scene that the others built up to or supported. I cannot say that I enjoyed it but I do feel it has to a great extent affected me. The only reason I feel that this film is one worth watching is because of the latent message it holds. It very successfully exposes authority and bureaucracy in society. The characters in this film portray people that are either convinced or have been convinced that are crazy.

Halloween is the time of year that most people loved the idea of being scared beyond belief. But nowadays it’s harder to be genuinely scared because it seems like some people have become accustomed to most horrifying things that relate to Halloween due to the fact that it is the same every year. Nonetheless every year amusement parks use Halloween as a marketing scheme to get people and their friends to come to their horror nights, and spend money on ridiculous overpriced items, which all present the same things; clowns, clowns, chainsaws, and more clowns. Yes we can all agree that clowns are scary, but there has to come a time where the ones coming up with these “horror nights” step back and realize that what they are doing is no longer working anymore. But alas there is someone out there who knows what they’re doing, and it quite possibly could have to do with the fact that they are connected to the movie studio that did invent the horror film genre. But what makes Universal Studios Halloween Horror night so sinister? Universal Studios has a way where they take you out of reality and place you in a horror movie where you encounter many horror mazes, and also by the way they attack your senses in unexpected ways.
Its ambiguity (which I’m fairly frustrated with) allows for many interpretations. On the side note, I really enjoyed the film’s soundtrack by Johan Söderqvist. There were no jump scares exaggerated with loud music, but rather this same eerie tune playing throughout the film.
The movie is, most likely, done well enough to intrigue its intended audience. It captured the theme and story line of the book. It falls short, though, when compared to the beautiful, sensitive and contemplative prose of Natalie Babbitt. One could only hope that a viewing of the film will lead the watcher to try the book and be delighted all the more.
I’m a huge fan of horror films and some of the things I really liked in this one where the music and choice of scenery. From the beginning of the film to the end, the music sounds very creepy and gives you a feeling that something is always about to happen that will have you jumping out of your seat. The movie It was a good remake of the original movie that came out in 1990. When I saw the movie I thought it was good Film but I did think some parts of the movie was dumb. I did think the kids were good actors especially when they feared of pennywise and well that’s because while acting because they were scared. In the 2017 movie pennywise is a very scary clown, but you see there is a reason why pennywise is a clown. Pennywise is monster that takes the form of a clown to lure in children and it did that in the 90s. But in the 2017 version the clown is too scary to lure anyone in his traps. That’s why pennywise in the new version doesn’t work here. I do think the story is better than the original, but you do question some things.

...s film is tense enough that you are on edge from the production company logo to the ending credits. Having been horribly desensitized to fictional violence over the years, it is refreshing to see a movie that is not afraid to invoke the natural emotion during a horror film to its most extreme. This also leads to the knowledge that not everything will come out rosy for some, if not all, of our core group.
After discussing this movie in class it all makes sense. All the details that I missed throughout the movie I saw when we started discussing it. I saw most of the religious themes, some like the pale horse evaded me. This was a great movie and one that I would recommend to anyone. The way that it is written and the way that is was played out is amazing. I haven’t even begun to scratch the surface with the meanings behind this movie.
Overall, the score was beautiful and appropriate, adding suspense and mystery at all the right times. The sound effects added psychological flavor to the story without drawing too much attention to it.
The book and the movie were both very good. The book took time to explain things like setting, people’s emotions, people’s traits, and important background information. There was no time for these explanations the movie. The book, however, had parts in the beginning where some readers could become flustered.
I suggest if you haven’t watched this movie, then you should watch this cult film. I’m pretty sure its makes you unsettled from the beginning to the end.
