The sport is a worldwide phenomenon because of the fact that it is so easy to play and it still gives you bodily benefits. In soccer the player needs to use quick shifts of walking jogging and running which is a great workout for the body because of the transitions in speed. Because of the quick shifts between jogging and sprinting soccer also improves speed. Soccer, unlike some sports, helps to improve flexibility as well due to the stretching needed to be done before each game and practice. Soccer is a cardiovascular sport that calls for large amounts of running which in turn increases the player’s cardiovascular strength and stamina.
