A life with sign language is a better life for the deaf because sign language is the main form of communication for the deaf people. To express anything that deaf people feel or go through in a daily life just like hunger, stress, any kind of emotions or anything they encounter, they mostly use sign language. Sign language plays a vital role in deaf people's life as it has made their life a lot more effortless as compared to the time when they had to keep quiet and were abandoned just because they could not voice their opinions. Oral method is one of the other forms. Oral method came into practice a lot later than sign language and it was just like a compulsion for deaf people to mark that they are also capable of speech just like other hearing people. It was not a great idea as many children were forced to not use sign language which limited their thoughts and their creativity because it would be hard for them to open up and express in form of speech. Oral method is difficult to learn and to imply. Yes, it is a step closer for deaf people to live a life of hearing people by using the normal oral method however, the oral method or the speech used by deaf people and hearing people varies and which induces the discrimination between hearing people and deaf people. Sign language is easy to learn as the study says that the babies who are short of hearing start to learn sign language from 6-7 months old and begin to use single sign language from 8-9 months. The article titled "The Benefits of ASL Signing in Childcare Centers with Young Children" argues that "Signing in a childcare setting allows caregivers to model effective communication, encourage conflict resolution, and help children to communicate with each other. Teachers who sign can spread more time interacting with and nurturing children than managing the myriad challenges associated with Early Childhood Education".
