The Ford Mustang had a significant impact on the 1960s because it was a stylish, fast, and overall the best muscle car in its time. Many people bought them, about 1.4 million were bought in the first 2 years of it being released. They were originally sold for about $2368 which would be about $18,892 in today's money. It was originally released on April ,7 1964 and sold about 22,000 cars in the first day ,it was 6,000 more than were originally made. They were classified as muscle cars, now they are classified as sports cars.
