In the 15th century and continuing into the early 17th century, many people were exploring, and that time period is now known as the Age of Exploration. In this time period were many people were travelling overseas. Some of the many people that explored during this time period are Henry Hudson, Amerigo Vespucci, and Christopher Columbus. Many people question if this time period truly changed the world. The Age of Exploration, truly changed the world, because it changed the lives of the Indians, cultural-diffusion, and because exploration got us where we are today, literally.
Native Americans before the age of exploration were content people, but once explorers started to come over the Americas, everything changed. Christopher Columbus is a great example of how they would mistreat Native Americans. Las Casas wrote that, the spaniards "Thought nothing of knifing Indians by tens and twenties and of cutting slices off them to test the sharpness of their blades." Nobody deserves to be treated this way, and it was because of exploration that they were treated this way. Cultural-diffusion is different cultures mixing together, gradually. This diffusion can be with religion, technology, language, or anything else. Cultural diffusion happens anytime two cultures meet, and the Europeans and Indians meeting was not an exception. Some ways that cultural discussion happened is when the Europeans showed the Native Americans their technology. In addition, there was also cultural diffusion, because food from Europe was brought over to the Americas, and than food from the Americas were brought over to Europe.
