Gaius Julius Caesar, better known as Julius Caesar, was a notable military and political leadership that gained many achievements throughout his ruling of Rome. Julius Caesar had fought in several crucial wars that helped him get involved with Roman politics, declaring himself dictator for life. This precedent led to a senatorial coup, and Caesar's eventual assassination. Julius Caesar, as a single individual, tremendously influenced Rome through his economic reforms, conquering of Gaul, and dictatorship.
Julius Caesar, during his reign, influenced economical changes in Rome. A major change that Julius Caesar brought about was resolving the financial crisis that was occurring when he came to power. These financial crises were caused by collapse in the real estate values due to fewer buyers that were in debt to the banks. As well as, a shortage of coinage due to hoarding. Julius Caesar ordered that property must be accepted for repayment at its pre-war value and reinstated a previous law which forbade the holding of more than 60,000 sesterces in cash by any one person(“Gaius Julius Caesar” 108). Julius Caesar excelled in military command and an example of Julius Caesar’s impacting victories in crucial battle came with the Gallic Wars. At the start of 52 B.C., a rebellion that spread rapidly throughout much of what Romans called Celts or Gauls surprised Julius Caesar. During that winter, most of the tribes tried to expel the Romans from their lands. This led to what is know as the Gallic wars. Gaul has never been a unified country just independent and hostile tribes. This made it easier to conquer for Julius Caesar.
