Hitler Youth was a well taught powerful weapon. It was probably Hitler’s most powerful weapon. This was a great idea by Hitler, but it was consequential for the future of Germany thinking that everybody is evil in the eyes of the Germans. The three main topics about this are : that kids were trained to be in the military or aid the military. Hitler was a great strategist and Hitler Youth was a great strategy. The last one is how this was a good idea, it really was a great idea but for the wrong reasons. Why was this program effective towards the world and why did it fall with Germany after the war?
Hitler Youth was Hitler’s most powerful weapon because the kids that went there were trained from age ten to eighteen depending on the gender.
Righteous Acts Throughout humanity, human beings have been faced with ethnic hardships, conflict, and exclusion because of the battle for authority. Hence, in human nature, greed, and overall power consumes the minds of some people. Groups throughout the world yearn for the ability to be the mightiest. These types of conflicts include ethnic shaming, racial exclusion, physical and verbal abuse, enslavement, imprisonment, and even death. Some of these conflicts were faced in all parts of Europe and the Pacific Region during World War II.
Germany was now being led by Adolf Hitler, a high school drop out who aspired to become an artist and was strongly anti-intellectual. Before Hitler, German universities had been considered some of the best in the world, but under Hitler’s rule, many young people living in Nazi Germany where very hard behind their peers from other western countries. Western education became secondary to teaching the youth mysticism, speculation and collective thinking toward a common goal and of course, the pursuit of a glorious future for Germany.
The setting was perfect as the people of Germany were primed and ready for any leader that would tickle their ears with what they were wanting to hear. World War I was over (#4) and the people of Germany were in an economic depression that crippled the country. The German mark had lost so much value that it took a wheelbarrow full of money to buy a loaf of bread. A good portion of the youth in Germany were raised in fatherless homes. In an article written by Dr. Alice Hamilton, she says this about Hitler's youth: "They were children during the years of the war when the food blockade kept them half starved, when fathers were away at the front and mothers distracted with the effort to keep their families fed. They came to manhood in a country which seemed to have no use for them. Even compulsory military training was no more and there was nothing to take its place" (Perry et. al 358). Hitler, being the sleazy opportunist that he was, capitalized on this state of affairs. In ways that were not politically correct, he was able to influence this segment of the population and hold them in allegiance to his agenda. "Hitler made each insignificant, poverty stricken, jobless youth of the slums feel himself as of the great of the earth, since the youth was a German, a Nordic, far superior to the successful Jew who was driven out of office and counting house to make place for the youth and his like" (Perry et. al 359). The youth of Germany were an important target for Hitler. He knew that if his dream for the thousand year Reich were to be fulfilled he needed the loyalty of the young German people. But how did he obtain that loyalty? How did he set about bending the German children’s hearts and minds to his will?
The reason for this paper was to understand more about why he was doing what he was doing and how it affected the people in Germany and everywhere else. Why he became the person he was and why he did that. Adolf Hitler had a very difficult childhood and did not have a good relationship with his dad. He had many losses in his life. For the years that he was homeless in Vienna it was at this time where he developed his hatred for jews and started going to meetings about that and started to believe that jew where the cause of everything has happened around the Germany. During the World War I time he wanted to sign up and be in army. But instead he was just and a messenger for the World I. After the world war I he was still working for the military. He was in parties and wanted to seize most of Munich. He was also arrested. That he also ran for president and had he was elected. Nazism and Fascism are prominent in daily life as shown in both movies Swing Kids and Berlin 36 by the uses of distinct characteristics such as the use of force, propaganda and sabotage. Fascism is defined as having a governmental system led by a dictator with complete power. Nazism on the other hand is defined as an ideology featuring racism and expansionism and obedience to a strong leader. These two ideologies are alike with Nazism falling under a sub-category of Fascism. As Hitler rose to power, he created many organizations within the Nazi Party. The groups were for many different people, including teachers, doctors, civil servants, women, lawyers, and students. The organization for students was called Hitler Youth, which became a very important part of Nazi Germany from its creation in 1922 to its disbandment in 1945. In the Hitler Youth, the German children were taught that they were better than everyone else. They were also taught that since they had Aryan blood, they were the master race and were the only ones that should be able to live in Nazi Germany. The Nazis are infamous for their heavy use of propaganda during their reign in the Third Reich, they used many means of propaganda such as posters, cartoons, radio, film, etc. The German citizens’ constant exposure to all of this propaganda from all directions had a deep psychological and psychoanalytical impact on them, it redefined their identity and who they were as well as what they thought of the world around them. Some of the opinions and mindsets that German citizens had may have been there even before the Nazis came into power and made it seemed like they were brainwashing people with their propaganda, but with what justification can it be said that Nazi propaganda had a psychological and psychoanalytic impact on the German population to a great extent, rather than it being the work of pre set psychological states of mind of people due to the Treaty of Versailles, the Great Depression, Hyperinflation, and other sources which may have led the German population to support and hold anti-semitistic and nationalistic ideologies.
