The history of school shootings has many effects on how the community views schools. School shootings are not just a U.S. problem, but are a worldwide problem that happens rarely. The very first school outbreak happened in 1927 where Andrew Kehoe, an angry farmer, bombed the Bath Consolidated School in Bath, Michigan. This tragedy killed and injured many students. School shootings were uncommon over the next few decades, they began to spark up again in the 1970s. In 1979, a sixteen-year-old, Brenda Spencer, opened fired on an elementary school located adjacent to her home and killed two people.
