Introduction
Italy is located in Southern Europe with two Mediterranean islands of Sicily and Sardinia. We have separate Italy into four parts, North Italy, Central Italy, Southern Italy and Island Italy. Each part has different use of ingredients due to the geographical features are different.
Food Practices
Italian cuisine is one of the healthiest diets in the world, they prefer simplicity, whole and natural cooking. They concern about the quality of the ingredients, so they are using the best ingredients which is fresh and flavorful. The major ingredients of Italian cooking are olive oil, tomatoes, pasta, garlic, mushrooms, dried oregano and parmesan. Italian food culture is similar to Chinese, they also have starch as staple food. Rice, pasta and pizza are necessary in their daily life.

The lunch(Pranzo) takes around 2 hours and a lunch consists first course, second course and fruit. The table setting will be informal, only provide 2 forks and 2 glasses. However, some businessman would prefer quick meal like pizza or sandwiches. Tea(Merenda) is similar with breakfast in Italy. They will have hot milky drinks and some bread or yogurt, gelato. Dinner(Cena) is formal meal usually spend with family. It may consists 4-5 courses.

An Itlian formal meal usually eat more than two hours, they chat with each other during the meal, they adore "slow food" because they think it is a real diet culture. If Italian friends invite you home for dinner, guests should bring small gifts, such as wine, sweets chocolate or flowers. Gift packaging should pay attention to some. Italians do not give handkerchiefs and linens as gifts. Besides, refusing the invitation to lunch or dinner is very impolite and never arrive on time but 15 minutes
