Imagine going on a date for the first time. The two of you parked in a turnout on Lake Herman Road, when another car blocks you in. Barely any cars are driving at this time, and the driver of the other car gets out and shoots at the car forcing you two out. The shooter ceases fire and goes around to the passenger side. He takes out pieces of rope and demands that your date ties you up, so they do, but then they try to run away. The man shoots your date in the back and you in the head. That is what exactly happened to Betty Jensen and David Faraday on December 20th, 1968. Around eleven o’clock at night, Stella Borges left her house to go on a walk, when she saw the abandoned car and two bodies. She ran to the nearest gas station, and to her luck, Officer William T. The two had been trapped in and the shooter got out with a flashlight and gun to blind them. About half an hour after the attack, an anonymous caller reported it and took claim for the Jensen and Faraday attack. It was traced back to a payphone near the police station. As this happened, the two victims were taken to the hospital, both of them in critical condition. Ferrin was pronounced dead at the hospital, meanwhile Mageau survived, despite getting shot in the face chest and neck.
