In the showdown of the century, two political opponents are battling for superiority in holding the top dog position over our country, along with winning over the hearts of those living in it. Following is a short introduction to both fair opponents: one is 70 while the other is 68, one is male while the other is female, one has large hands while another has small hands, and one is named Donald Trump while the other is named Hillary Clinton. These two worthy adversaries vary among their political beliefs, their communication methods, and their backgrounds, and although there are numerous amounts of contrasting material shared between the two opponents, a few key similarities can also be noted. First off, one of the most noted and distinct differences …show more content…
One of the most famed qualities of Donald Trump is the way in which he communicates, both publically and virtually. It seems at most times that he does not contain an off button, and his eccentric and vociferous style of communication often pays off for him in the long run, although sometimes there are immediate repercussions for having no filter. To those who are adverse or have an extreme dislike for Trump, he can often come off as abrupt, abrasive, and extremely rude, while those who sympathize with him and his cause often see him as being candid as he voices the truth. The bottom line is, Trump does not worry about what others think of him as he makes speeches and, sometimes, extremely obscene remarks, this is where his likeability comes in since many citizens appreciate this “tell it like it is” personality. On the other side of the spectrum is Hillary Clinton, who employs a very reasonable and logical demeanor when communicating her thoughts and ideas, and is adamantly advised to steer clear of the electronic variety. She appeals more to the logic and rational of the crowd and takes into account the context and setting of where, or to whom …show more content…
Donald Trump is known notably for his business finesse as a real estate mogul and his domineering attitude as a reality show personality. In the 1970’s, Trump became interested in the construction of buildings in downtown Manhattan, and soon delved into the world of hotels and luxuries, even promoting beauty pageants and the contentious Trump University. This soon led to stints on NBC reality series, both The Apprentice and The Celebrity Apprentice. Trump has never held political office, but has held notoriety in the position of President of the Trump Organization. On the other hand, Hillary Clinton is widely known for her presence in politics, becoming a strong figure in both women’s equality and international affairs. Clinton holds a total of eight years under elected office as a Senator and as Secretary of State, she is also known as a previous First Lady. With these hefty backgrounds that are quite diverse also comes one main similarity, both candidates have been plagued with controversy. Trump is hailed for his multiple marriages, for the failure of Trump University due to multiple lawsuits, and for his destructive commentary. Clinton has faced controversy for both fateful military occurrences and email legalities. Even with different lives leading up to where they are now, both candidates have faced challenges and taken on
The U.S. president is a person deemed to be the most fitting person to lead this country through thick and thin. It’s been such a successful method that it has led to 43 individual men being put in charge of running this country. However, this doesn’t mean that each one has been good or hasn’t had an issue they couldn’t resolve when in office. But no matter what, each one has left a very unique imprint on the history and evolution of this nation. However when two are compared against one another, some rather surprising similarities may be found. Even better, is what happens when two presidents are compared and they are from the same political party but separated by a large numbers of years between them. In doing this, not only do we see the difference between the two but the interesting evolution of political idea in one party.
The plot of the book, Speak is that Melinda Sordino, a freshman at Merryweather High went to an end of the summer party with some of her friends. Things take a turn for the worst when a senior named Andy Evans sexually assaults her at the party without her friends knowing about it. Melinda is frightened, afraid, and does not know what to do so she calls 911 busting the party, and causing her friends and everyone at that school to hate her, even if they don’t know her.
Have you ever wondered how influential people write great speeches that grab people's attention? They use a literary device called, rhetorical appeals. As supported in Hillary Clinton’s November 03, 2016 speech, uniting the American Public, will lead to an advantageous country. In her speech for the Democratic National Convention it states that, as elected for president, she will get everyone saying “We” instead of “I”. To reach out to the American Citizens and grab their attention, Clinton uses many rhetorical devices as she speaks. Using Logos, Pathos, and Ethos, the people of America jump on board with Clinton's ideas.
The purpose of Clinton’s public rhetoric is to win the support of the American people, relative to the Republicans and the Independent Counsel. The support of the people will ensure the eventual cooperation of the House and Senate–who are directly responsible to the public for their jobs. Because Clinton is speaking to a broad and...
Although initially forming around the nucleus of two distinct and different ideologies, long years of bloody conflict have served to significantly erode the distinctions between the parties. The Conservatives and the Liberals are more like warring factions or clans than any parties with firmly established and radically different ideologies. Both tend to be repressive, both are corrupt, and bot...
First of all, Donald Trump is a businessman-not a politician. He received his degree in Economics/Real Estate from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Finance. In 2007, Forbes Magazine reported his annual earnings in entertainment alone to be $32 million. This would have meant a significant pay cut, had he become United States President. Currently, he is the producer and star of “The Apprentice,” which has been on air since 2004 (“The Apprentice”). He holds multiple offices at the Trump Organization, and is also a chairman of Trump Hotels and Casino Resorts, Incorporated (Project Vote Smart). Donald Trump has put his name on products and companies both successful and unsuccessful, including food products, corporations, and a clothing line. Trump once stated that “The stuff that’s been sent over from China falls apart after a year and a half. It’s crap.” Ironically, the majority of his products are manufactured in China (Webley, 8). How can we expect a man to keep in touch with an entire country when he can hardly keep in touch with his own business? Donald Trump has had some other losses in business as well, including a failed airline business and multiple bankruptcies in his casinos, among other lost investments. (Webley, 3).
The 2016 presidential election has been one of the most talked about elections because of one man, Donald Trump. When the billionaire real estate mogul announced that he would be running for the Republican Party candidacy in the 2016 presidential election, he sent this country into an uproar. Donald Trump, who has never shied away from the media, has become one of the most talked about presidential candidate in history. On the day of his announcement for the republican candidacy, he sparked controversy because of his comment about the Mexican people, stating:
The presidential election in year 2016 has been described as both outrageous and strange. Media from all over the world has covered every debate and the reactions at the outcome have been apparent in almost every country. The choice between businessman Donald Trump, the Republican candidate, and former secretary of state Hillary Clinton, the Democratic candidate, has caused several politicians and notable people to publically endorse their personal favorite - both on social media or at formal political gatherings. An example of the latter is Michelle Obama’s speech “Remarks by the First Lady” at the 2016 Democratic National Convention.
In a race for only one winner, it begins with the attitude and personality each reveals to the audience. No one wants their president to be rude and vulgar. Donald interrupted Hillary 51 times in the debate; he made faces, rolled his eyes, and “rocked” his body when Hillary talked. He put on his “I do not agree with you” and “that is not true” faces. On the other hand, from the start of the debate, Hillary showed her confident smile. Unlike Donald, she started the evening by thanking the host, the audience and the university for sharing its place for the debate. While these are small things, they truly reflect a person’s upbringing, grooming, and understanding of social
“The beauty of me is that I am very rich” according to Donald Trump. His ignorance has lead him to do things that he shouldn’t being doing or has done. In the past few months he has been racist man that would insult people that are from a different race. When Trump started running for president he would insult and bully everybody in general not knowing the people’s stories. He made people seem like they are poor and have nothing to live for, Trump’s inability to see past his greed. He wants to separate the United States and wants people to think he is the best of the best; Trump should not be President.
Now if none of this is appealing to you i don't know what “He says what he wants to say, insults whom he wants to insult, and never, ever considers apology or retreat. ”(Kluger,Jeffrey). I have great respect for this quote of Donald's because it shows that he's not afraid to stand against something or stand up for it. It's quite obvious that he's not afraid to stand up for anything. In my eyes that is the best reason why he deserves so much respect and attention.
Since the development of civilization, women have always been viewed as subordinate to men in all aspects of life. This is especially true in regards to the communication styles of both sexes. The expository text “ His Politeness is Her Powerlessness” by Deborah Tannen and Charlotte Bronte’s gothic novel, Jane Eyre, demonstrates a shocking similarity between the 1820s and the 21st century in regards to men’s view point on women’s style of communication. According to the texts, women will always be viewed as the inferior sex regardless of their communication style.
Often what Trump says is wrong, but he makes it sound right. An example of a simple answer given by Trump is to “Build a Wall”. That is a very simple answer to the immigrants that come into the United States. A lot of people didn’t like this idea, but at the same time it was a solution that was a simple answer. It showed very little thought, but at the same time it was right. If you don’t like immigration, just build a wall. That was just one reason to “Make America Great Again.” Another simple answer given by Trump is that if you are suspicious of Muslims to track them in a database. It is just a simple answer that sounds right. Though these answers to these questions may not be right or may not work it is just something that is simple and is an answer to the question. This shows a lot of confidence that Trump has. It shows that Trump has an answer and it shows that he has authority. While some don’t like seeing Trump in office others love to here what he does. A focus that Trump has is immigrants and a lot of people dislike immigrants. This brings me to the next topic and that is his supporters hate
Perhaps he has something extra that has propelled him above everybody else. Everything that he touches seems to turn to gold. Donald Trump’s leadership style has made him rich, powerful, famous and known throughout the world. This paper will examine some of these leadership styles. Leadership traits “Leadership research has not revealed a single trait that is possessed by all successful leaders, but a number of characteristics have been identified that are common to many of them”(Timpe, p.30, 1987).
Donald Trump’s announcement that he was running for the presidency shocked many people. When he released his announcement speech I knew I would not be voting for him because I do not agree with any of his ideas or beliefs. His speech in general is flawed and all over the place and he doesn’t seem to know what his point is or how to get to it. I believe that he uses his fame and wealth to try to win the people over and claims that he is the best there is for this position therefore earning their trust.
