High School Lessons Learned

A Lesson Well Learned Junior year of high school is a time of confusion: deciding a college, picking a major, feelings about senior year, graduation, and other overwhelming circumstances. Our high school time was running low and our expectations were ridiculously high. March 28 2015 was a day that changed my life forever in various ways. Growing up in a separate daycare from my school was different, but it was awesome since I didn’t only have one place where I saw my friends, I had two. Making friends is a natural trait of mine and thankfully it led me to my best friend. She had the blackest hair which complimented her icy blue eyes that portrayed her mysterious personality. We spent all of our time together even though we attended different schools, but thankfully we mingled with people at the different schools. We planned college together, living together, everything until one day it was all changed. My junior prom was outstandingly beautiful. It was in March so it was hot and muggy. So muggy that you could taste the humidity in the air. It was crisp. Hearing my phone ring and ring, I knew it was her worrying like it was her motherly instinct. My little sister adores the game of softball as you can tell by all her clay stained shorts from steaming hot practices. I got a phone call a few moments later. I never understood how a phone call can make your heart fall to the floor, make every breath of air in your lung escape and leaving you empty. An empty that cannot be described in a matter of words. My best friend over corrected and passed away in a car accident. Hearing news like that leaves you standing alone in a dark world where no one knows yet. It is so shocking that moving seems
