Management and Leadership skills in Public Health system:
The health care system is a complex of services, organizations, and trained health professional that are engaged in providing health services within an area (Peterson, 2011). Over the past years the health care system,Ministry of health,and other health services are faced with challenges regarding proper leadership and management in the health care. There is a need for proper management and leadership in a work place and studies have been carried out to address these issues and ways to help curb it, there for the focus of this literature is on leadership and management in the public health sector.

The Ottawa charter in public health defines health promotion as the ability to enable people to take control over their health by tackling the various determinants of health.
The aim of good leadership and management in the work place is to provide services to the people through the availability of resources, finances, and infrastructures. Proper leadership and management is essential for the achievement of effective, efficient and sustainable health programs. Leadership and management practices gives chances for improving health program performance, strengthens staff capability and improving relationships with aim population thus increasing the ability to respond effectively to change(D, 2002).
Though in many cases where leadership and management are understood to be same, leaderships and managements are two different terms that are equally important for a better functioning of an organization. Trust then leads to engagement and improved individual and team performance.
