Harry Potter and the Sorcerer 's Stone by J.K Rowling is the first book in the award winning Harry Potter series. It is about an orphaned boy who on his eleventh birthday discovers that his biological parents are wizards, and that he too is actually a wizard living in the muggle word. Through out the novel, one can see that Harry Potter is a hero archetype. He embarks on a magical adventure through the wizarding world and uncovers the stories from his mysterious past. Throughout his journey Harry learns and grows from the whimsy little boy living under the stairs to one of the most inspirational wizards that defeats the Dark Lord. Despite Harry entering this magical journey there are hardships along the way. Harry has mentors by his side that lead and enable him to becoming a stronger person which leads him into becoming a hero. Harry Potter’s life is a bumpy due to living a miserable life with his aunt and uncle and losing his parents at a young age. The ordinary world he lives is a complete nightmare because his aunt, uncle, and cousin do not treat him like the darling nephew/cousin he is. Harry started to get excitement when he went school supply shopping with Hagrid. When, Harry though went to buy the last thing on his shopping list for Hogwarts, it hit him that his world has changed. Harry , “took the wand [,and] felt a sudden warmth in his fingers (66). Touching that magical wand gave Harry Potter a special feeling. It gave him the feeling of ignite passion. Harry Potter has the ignite passion to commit to learning the art of wizardry. Harry knows that living in the wizarding world, is a positive move and will better suit him then living with his uncles and cousin. This is the moment in the story that the adventure will get on
