When one defines happiness multiple things come into mind. Merriam Webster dictionary comes up with three different definitions for happiness: a pleasurable or satisfying experience, a state of well-being and contentment, and good fortune. In the novel “Brave New World” by Aldous Huxley, the government accomplishes conditioning and regulating the society all in the same way with growing them up the same way and using a drug called Soma, by doing so it gets rid of war’s, mental illnesses, sexualism, racism and many more issues. With the help of their technology that they use, human beings are created with a set of of specifications and rules that they must follow, and their lives are easily replaceable because of the way they are conditioned into a person. They are born into a bottle and are grown up into different classes with different regulations from who they are, known as conditioning and hatching. They are taught to be this way not knowing any other way of life than the way they are brought up to become what they are conditioned to be. A statement that has been said over and over to the society that, “Everyone belongs to everyone else”(26) This shows from the novel that the society is brought up without the emotions of loving just singular people but everyone. This saying creates a way of having no way of emotion getting in the way of their social caste and disruption of their work. By the government controlling the way they are brought up to work no outbreak happens or unhappiness is created with their jobs, everyone loves who they are and what their jobs are because they do not know any better. By bringing up everyone in the same way and separated them in different caste this creates a life that's very civil for all. By everyone working in the different caste systems under certain regulation by everyone basically being the same creates a peaceful world by working together as one.
