Many people do not see salons as harmful to the environment. Customers think hair salons are a good thing to the environment, but they do not know they harm the earth. Hair salons can be improved by reducing their electricity and getting better appliances that save energy and/or electricity. Some reasons salons are not safe for the environment are as follows: workers leave their appliances plugged in, lots of chemicals in each appliance, and their lights are on for more than 9 hours a day. The AEC (Appliance Energy Calculator) helps one figure out an estimate of your electricity bill for an appliance, and how much energy they can conserve. It allows them to calculate your energy cost for specific products.
