Homosexuality and Heterosexuality are two entirely different sex patterns. Globalization has drastically changed the traditional social pattern of sex and relationship pattern. It has introduced some new concepts in sexual characteristics of genders. The issue of heterosexual and homosexual is said to be a philosophical rather psychological concept of human sexuality which place sexual course on a permanent range from heterosexuality to homosexuality. Before presenting thorough comparison of both types it is important to first define them.
Generally homosexuality refers to or characterized by a propensity to direct sexual craving toward another individual of the same sex. It involves sexual interaction between individuals of the same sex. Apart from the general perception, homosexuality is not a genetic imperfection, a hormonal inequality, any mental illness or outcome of the demonic possession. In simple words, homosexuality is learned through a composite mixture of determining sexual elements and personal choices. Various same-sex attracted people have a sense of being special from others since their early age. While on the other hand, heterosexuality is said to be a natural magnetism or sexual attractions between individuals of different sex or gender. In technical terms, heterosexuality refers to a lasting pattern of or temperament to understand sexual, affectionate or romantic attractions to individuals of the opposite sex. Sexual orientation is a term used to describe a person’s physical, sexual, and romantic attraction to another person, whether they be Male or Female. The term is relatively new and the idea of having a homosexual identity has only been around for one-hundred years at the most (APA).
The terms gender and sexuality are usually mistaken for one or the other. Gender refers to the social term that is given to a specific sex. Gender is typically considered female or male. The term sexuality refers to people’s sexual interest or desires to other people. Different types of sexuality are heterosexual, homosexual, bisexual, pansexual, and other types. Gender and sexuality are used for people to identify their sexuality, communication with others, and learn how to find a community of people that are alike.
Heterosexuality all starts from the 19th century. People started to recognize more and more things in the world. Heterosexual and Homosexual was not even a word at the beginning of the 1900s. Heterosexual was called, “abnormal or perverted” and Homosexual in medical term was called “morbid sexual passion for one of the same sex.” Katz states that heterosexuality has not always existed. I think the reason why he believes that is because he feels that “the Dorland’s Medical Dictionary kept finding the words to describe sexes.” In the past, people think that men and women should be together, they did not have any ideas of what heterosexual and homosexuals are. The term sexual orientation is known as the preference of one’s sexual partners, whether the same sex, opposite sex, or both sexes. Sexual orientation occurs when a child reaches the adolescent stages in life (Broderick & Blewitt, 2015). Adolescents activate their sexual orientation within four steps that create their identity. Adolescents are unaware of their identity at the beginning stages of sexual orientation. They work their way into the exploration stage by learning their preference of sexual partners. Once they are aware of their sexual identity, they will start the process of acceptance. Once acceptance is achieved, they will begin to integrate their sexual orientation into their lives (Gallor & Fassinger, 2010).

A study found that identical twins normally share homosexual behavior if one of them is homosexual. This proved that genes are likely to cause homosexuality. Contrary to popular belief, there were other sexual relationships other than between opposite sexes. Homosexuality has baffled most of humanity as it seemingly goes against Mother Nature.
