b. The GIMS system helps the Army National Guard manage the incentive program.

GIMs is available worldwide seven days a week. You can request access to GIMS and

the State Incentives Manager (IM) is the approval authority.

c. GIMS system provides management controls …show more content…

For example GIMS requires a second reviewer on the contracts before

sending the information to state for approval.

d. GIMS has several tabs that the Incentives Manager can check within GIMS vs.

have to go to several systems i,e Iperms and Sidpers. Here are a few of the tabs APFT,

height/weight, remarks, payments, and assign history etc. You check these tabs to

verify that the Solider is in accordance with the bonus agreement before processing the

payment.

e. GIMS also has different bins for different levels to access. For instance if a

Readiness NCO at the company level would work under the unit bins, the IM at State

level would work under payment actions, or Exception to Policy (ETP) and NGB would

work under awaiting verification bin. This is just a small list of the different bins in

GIMS.

f. GIMS makes it easier for numbers and dates to not be smudged or duplicated and

allows for a less error free environment. It also allows the Unit to see exactly where the

payment is in the incentive process. Which then helps the Recruiters/Readiness NCO

to track the payments. The payment tab will also give you information about dates for

future payments and well as the past
