Our minds are an amazing tool we use in everyday life. The development of our brain is unique to each individual. The author of the book Mindset, Carol Dweck had categorized two types of thinking. One was identified as a fixed mindset and the other as a growth mindset. Obtaining a growth mindset requires effort and motivation to expand your initial potential. A growth mindset has the capability of learning to grow from your mistakes in areas like solving setbacks, being in a relationship, and being successful.

People work hard in everything they do to be able to achieve this one goal. Someone with a growth mindset and someone with a fixed mindset tend to have a different perspective on how success works. One with a fixed mindset thinks that since they are already successful and that they have made it to the top that, they don’t need to do anything else. They believe that everything they did to get there is all the potential they have. Little did they know that they are only thinking short term. With a growth mindset, they will see that they are being successful, but they have the potential to be better and work harder. They see another doing better and they want to succeed even further. They don’t look down upon the person who is more successful, they see them as a challenge. They see them as the goal, the one to beat. With having a growth mindset, one is capable of seeing the short and long-term effect of their decisions and processes (Dweck 20). Those people want to be able to show what they are made of and want to be able to expand on what they already have. They see their initial success as a foundation or a base and want to be able to build, grow, and learn from
