Our group worked well together and every member of our group contributed valuable information and ideas that ended up making an impact on our prompt page. Furthermore, I thought it was very useful when we came together as a group to narrow the topic down and pick the top 8 sources. In addition, I found working in a group effective because there were so many ideas and writing skills that people brought to the table. I believe creating the prompt page would have been much more difficult if it was turned into a one-woman job.
Our group chose to study colonization. To narrow the search, we each studied certain aspects of the topic. I learned more about the glamorization of colonization and how it is portrayed incorrectly in television shows and movies. A numerous amount of sources that came up were articles about movies and restaurants that have made colonization romantic and almost desired. Although, it did help that I already had a rough idea of where my paper was going from the start due to my previous knowledge and experience with technology. In addition, the skills that I learned through writing this paper was organization and forming your own opinion. Organization is important for a paper to flow well and be easier to understand. As said before, a synthesis essay is supposed to be a conversation and not the writer reiterating what their sources has already said. In the end, I believe time management was vital to this paper because it required various steps in order to complete and do a good job, this assignment is not something than can be done last-minute. With many obstacles distracting us from writing the synthesis essay, such as Field Day, it was difficult to stay
