The Final Drive 1st Down: The Game Of The Week Green Bay Packers (10-4) @ Arizona Cardinals (12-2) Of all the games this week, I couldn’t think of a better game than what we have here. These two teams have a combined record of 22-6. The two quarterbacks involved in this game, Carson Palmer and Aaron Rodgers, are two of the best in the business. In my opinion, the winner of this game will be the NFC’s number two seed come January. Even with the loss of Tyrann Mathieu, I still believe the Cardinals are the NFL’s best team. Outside of a select few non-quarterbacks, I think every non-quarterback is expendable. I’m not taking anything away from Mathieu, but it’s just the landscape of the league. As long as Carson Palmer is behind center, the Cardinals …show more content…
Yes, their receiving core is abysmal compared to previous years. Yes, Aaron Rodgers is not having the typical Aaron Rodgers type year. Yes, their running game is extremely inconsistent. But, nonetheless, I will never count out a team with Rodgers at quarterback. Even in a down year, he is still completing 61 percent of his passes, and he has a touchdown to interception ratio of 29-6. I’m giving the edge to Arizona in this one. They are the better football team from top to bottom and the game is in Arizona. This is going to be a great game, and there isn’t a doubt in my mind we will see a rematch come …show more content…
For the Eagles to win the division they have to win their final two games and the Redskins have to lose their final two games. 3. For the Giants to win the division, they have to win their final two games and the Redskins have to lose their final two games. In other words, this game has huge implication in deciding who wins the NFC East. The Redskins are clearly in control, but I think if they lose this game their hopes of a division title will be lost. So, what I’m trying to say is this game is the de-facto NFC East championship. If the Eagles win, I think they’ll go on to win the division, but this game will be far from easy for the Eagles to win. Over the last four weeks Kirk Cousins has been lights out. The Redskins are 3-1 in those games and Cousins has completed 74 percent of his passes. His touchdown to interception ratio is 7-1 and he has three rushing touchdowns in that span. The Eagles have been one of the hardest teams to read all season long. At times they look like the team we thought they were going to be, and at other times they look like the worst team in the league. One week they beat the best team in the AFC, the next they barley escape against a middle of the road
In the past few years, the controversy over Native American and other racial sport names or mascots have become an uproar. The main sport teams that are being targeted due to controversial mascots are programs having names dealing with Native Americans. Many teams are well known programs such as the Atlanta Braves, Cleveland Indians, and the Washington Redskins. The Redskins are receiving the most heat from racial groups. According to Erik Brady of USA Today “The volatility surrounding such names has amped up in the year since Daniel Snyder, owner of Washington's NFL club, told USA TODAY Sports that he'd never change his team's name: ‘NEVER — you can use caps.’” (3). However, professional teams are not the only teams receiving negative remarks,
It is the reason fans fill the stadiums or turn them into ghost towns. If you were to look up success in the NFL one would probably see a picture of the Patriots. Six trips to the Super Bowl, fourteen winning records, and making the playoffs fourteen out of fifteen times within a fifteen year period are all hallmarks of their success. Comparing that to the Cowboys’ one playoff win, zero Super Bowl appearances, and five winning records within that same time span really shows which team has enjoyed more
If a team scores a touchdown in overtime, they automatically win the game in sudden death. But, if a team kicks a field goal on their first possession, the other team has one possession to win the game with a touchdown or tie the game with a field goal. If both teams kick a field goal, or if neither teams score on their first possession, the next team to score any points will win the game. If both teams are tied at the end of overtime, during a regular season game, the game will end in a tie. During the playoffs, there would be a second overtime and the game wouldn’t be determined until a team won.
The Steelers overall have many strengths that should last throughout the entire franchise of the team. Even when having a short down year, the Steelers are never in rebuilding mode. When a team can go nearly forty-five years without many rebuilding seasons, it shows that the franchise as a whole from the owner, players, coaches, and fans is run the right
The Chicago Bears are known for having up and down years. But in the past they have showed that they can become the big powerhouse in the NFL. They have a very rich past and will sure to have a very rich future. The Bears are one of the greatest legendary teams there is.

However, if Shepherd can find a way to step up his game and prove he is worth the long-term investment, making the final roster for the season or, at least, being assigned to the practice squad is a win for him. All of this will be contingent on the idea that he is healthy, but there is a sneaky strong reason to believe that he could surprise the coaching staff in training camp.
The 1-0 Dallas Cowboys will travel to Philadelphia on Sunday afternoon to face the 0-1 Eagles at 3:25 CT. A rivalry game between both teams. This will be ex Dallas Cowboys DeMarco Murray’s first game against his former team. So you know Murray will be looking to have a good game against his former teammates. The Cowboys will be with Dez Bryant, and Randy Gregory who both got hurt in the Giants game last Sunday night. This will be a hard fought game between both teams but I’m going to give you five reasons why I think the Philadelphia Eagles should lose.
Since 2005 the Philadelphia Eagles have saved 3 million dollars because of the environmental work they have done and 100 percent of their energy comes from reusable sources. ("Smarter Business: Greening the Games") To start off, most NFL teams have charities and donate to charities, especially the Philadelphia Eagles. Also, they help out with the environment. Teams have a special way to pick players around the league and in the draft for their team. To add to that, NFL teams and especially the Eagles keep a close eye on the player's health and how to keep them healthy. I want to start an NFL team and have the franchise based on the Philadelphia Eagles. There are many cities in the U.S. that are suitable for teams and there are a lot of things
“The Green Bay Packers are a non-profit corporation held by the citizens of Green Bay to run it’s football team”,who I think are the best, arguably are the most storied franchise in the National Football League, were organized on Aug,11, 1919, in the dingy second-floor editorial rooms of the old Green Bay Press-Gazette building, located on Cherry Street in downtown Green Bay. Never imagining what might become of the semipro football team being formed that day, nobody documented who was there or how many were on hand. There had been no announcement of the meeting beforehand, and the Press-Gazette provided no details about it the day after.Whether a full complement of players attended or if it was simply a
on the team. In the Rams debut season, they went 1-10-0. I know what your thinking, they've always stuck, but that's not true. In the Rams 67 year history. They have won 3 NFL championships.
The Rams already have a pretty stacked offensive rushing player in Todd Gurley and solid receiving corps with players like Tavon Austin and rookie Pharoh Cooper, but their quarterback position has been shaky the last couple of seasons and the three players eyeing for the position this year haven’t been too bad this preseason. Case Keenum is most likely going to start, unless he is injured or either Jared Goff or Sean Mannion just do something amazing in the last preseason game. That begs the question, what will Goff’s role be as the number one overall pick. He will most likely turn into the #3 QB and won’t make any starts this season, unless Keenum comes down with an injury. Even though Prescott will get the opportunity to start for the Cowboys, Goff will be in a better position because he isn’t on a team that will most likely finish last in their division. The Rams might be in the division with the Arizona Cardinals, Seattle Seahawks, and San Francisco 49ers, but they have a team that looks good enough to beat out at least two of these teams this upcoming year. If the quarterback position, whoever it may be, can stay solid, the Rams have a great opportunity to even make the playoffs. Jared Goff will be able to learn a lot quicker when his team is winning games instead of losing them, but this doesn’t mean that Prescott won’t be a great
Every year during the month of February, the biggest event of every NFL season is hosted which is called the Super Bowl, the annual championship game of the National Football League, the highest level of professional football in the United States. The main lead of the Super Bowl is that two American football teams play against each other to become the top NFL team of the year. This year of 2016 the two football teams that will be the main event on TV will be the Carolina Panthers versus the Denver Broncos. Many arguments and articles have been and are being written to predict who will win the Super Bowl in 2016. The argument ‘The Carolina Panthers can beat the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl 50’ (claim) is strong in the article “Why the Carolina
