Greed is a sin that each and every person has a tiny bit of. When somebody has the chance to get as much of something as they possible can, they will go to great efforts to receive everything in return. In the story "The Monkey's Paw," by W. W. Jacobs, the White family encounters a major trial of covetousness, and they much mess with their destiny to get it. In the story the old man wishes for two hundred pounds, basically altering destiny. When you alter destiny, the decision most times backfire, as appeared in this short story. The result of the old man's desire is that he loses his son.
