“Musk has long been vocal about the risks of AI” (Morris). What is artificial intelligence (AI)? AI is intelligence displayed by machines rather than natural knowledge displayed by humans and animals. In the article, “Elon Musk says Artificial Intelligence is the ‘Greatest Risk We Face as a Civilization”’ written by David Z. Morris, Elon Musk is very distraught about the possible dangers of AI and he calls for instant action. AI should be regulated as Musk argues because it could constitute problems in the future. A possible danger of AI is that it has potential to replace humans. AI will not stop improving whereas humans take time to genetically adapt. Showing great concern, Stephen Hawking, “...fears that somebody will create AI that will keep improving itself until it’s eventually superior to people” (Sulleyman). Hawking is alarmed with the possibilities of what AI might be able to do. Elon Musk’s thoughts are not too far from Hawking’s point of view either. Both believe that if AI does rise up, no doubt it will be better than humans because robots will not have as many problems to face such as strokes, heart, and cardiovascular diseases from which …show more content…
