Martin Scorsese's "Goodfellas" defiantly met the hype of all the great reviews received. I remember watching it when I was a kid, not smart enough to recognize the great performances all the actors played but especially the main character Henry played by Ray Liotta. I don't remember much except for blood, yelling, drugs and watching my dad and uncle laugh hysterically. Now that I'm older when I watched the film this time around I finally understood why It was such a brilliant film. The story revolves around Henry it starts off during his childhood, he's from a working class family of 8 and grows up in little Italy New York. They take their relationship to the next step she describes her beautiful wedding and how her early days are now being married to a mobster. She's introduced to everybody within their social circle and that's basically the only people she can talk to, she emphasizes how there are no outsiders. She's not ignorant to the fact her husband is a gangster she's just to caught up in everything else to care about it, her daily life becomes such a routine she's okay with the fact he does what he does and starts to even admire him for it. Henry still on the rise in the mafia alongside Jimmy and Tommy are bringing in big bucks making a name for themselves and continue doing there jobs. On one important night Tommy is disrespected by one of the head monsters in another gang namer Batts who just got out of prison, the guy is very important to the bambino gang and well Tommy the short tempered man he is catches him alone and with the help of Jimmy savagely beat him. Things are good for a while with its normal mafia problems now and then but one day he gets a tip from a security telling them about a 6 million heist they can easily pull off at the Lufthansa cargo terminal at JFK Airport. Henry get people to join in on the operation and Jimmy carries it out successfully. Everyone exited on how smooth the operation they start to spend money like crazy making Jimmy paranoid to the point he is killing people to make sure he isn't betrayed. When all this happens they get word Tommy is going to be turned to a made man in other words turn into a boss, but he is really set up and killed for killing Batts. Things are getting tough for everyone and its coming towards the end of the movie. The last scene was played fantastically by Ray Liotta and very well directed by Martin Scorsese, showing Henrys last day before getting busted by the FBI. He has to pick up his brother meet Jimmy to give him so weapons, help his mistress in making cocaine the go back to help his brother cook, and pick up this woman he uses to disguise as a baby sister to smuggle drugs all under the surveillance of the
