According to the text, procrastination is avoiding the less important things in one’s field of study or interest and paying attention to the more important things pertaining to one’s field of study. For example, if a student is seeking a degree in psychology and has an assignment due, he or she might forgo shopping to complete that assignment. Good and Bad Procrastination written by Paul Graham, with the purpose being about different types of procrastination include the difference between procrastinating and putting something less important off until later.

An example of type B procrastination is having a to-do list; it’s also when you are doing the small thing that does not matter instead of the more important things. Type C procrastination is when you put smaller errands off to do the things. They would rather just wait to the last minute to complete a task that they have had for days and or weeks. Also some people use time as a procrastination, they may say “ oh this is easy I will just do it the day before it is due rather then get started on the project when introduced to it.” The author Graham states on page 89 that one reason people don’t work on big projects is ironically, fear of wasting time, and failing. They fill as though the time they put into something will be wasted if the work they did isn’t praised as they think it should be. Some people have to force themselves or others may have to coerce them into completion of a project.
