Efforts to Disprove God are Pointless Who or what is the creator of the universe? Is there or has there been a creator at all? These are questions that everyone will stumble upon at some point in their life. Contemplation of these questions has resulted in a variety of different religious beliefs along with atheism. While some people reject the idea of a higher being, others accept it as their truth- like Christians. Nothing about the Christian religion has been without a doubt scientifically proven or disproven, and frankly, until the end of time, it never will be. Mistakes are inevitable; people make them daily. On the contrary, the Christian God is exemplified as perfection. The Bible recites, “there is no unrighteousness in Him,” (Psalm 92:15) and “Who can contemplate the thunder of His mighty power?” (Job 26:14). As imperfect beings, humans don’t have the capacity to comprehend ultimate perfection, much less prove or disprove it. In addition, no matter how big it may seem on Earth, humanity is miniscule when compared to the universe. Christianity is a faith-based religion, meaning that Christians believe in the Christian God in spite of not being able to physically see him. In the Bible it states, “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, and the evidence of things not seen.” (Hebrews 11:1). Christians use faith as their evidence for God. They do this by praying and trusting in Him and in turn, seeing how He answers prayers and works in their lives. In fact, the intent of the Christian God is for humans to choose Him by faith and free-will. If we proved His existence, this plan would be ruined. Some may argue, “Persuading someone of something is hardly the same thing as proving it. People staunchly believe all sorts of things for poor reasons, or no reasons at all.” (Shook). This statement is truthful, although, persuasion is not the intent of the Christian religion. Its purpose is for people to discover their own intimate connection with God and to directly experience Him in their lives. Christianity isn’t about someone believing just because someone else said it’s true, it’s about someone believing because they personally believe it to be true. It’s about having faith. Christianity is spiritual and not worldly, so it cannot be thought of in a worldly sense. To say that Christians believe in God for poor reasons or for no reasons
