Giving Back To Community

To be honest, I had never volunteered before I moved to Irving, TX. Throughout my years in Irving schools, I learned that community service is giving back to the community without pay. I found it interesting, inspiring, and invigorating. All the years that I spent living in Irving I had the privilege to volunteer at Children’s Medical Center, Jack E. Singley Academy, and Gabe P. Allen Charter School. Gaining experience and learning new things helped me realize the importance of giving back to the communities.
I believe that it is important to give back to communities because it provides a self reassurance that the city is doing well and people are inherently beautiful. Singley Academy in Irving and Gabe P. Allen in Dallas. I volunteer at the Academy everyday during my senior out until I go home around four. The work that I do is help teachers move equipment from one room to another, clean classrooms, grade papers, but the majority of the time I help the teachers get organized.This experience has taught me to become the leader that I am because the majority of the times teachers let me run the classroom, if they are busy. I make sure that everyone is doing their work and make sure that the students are following the substitute’s instructions. In addition, this experience has taught me to become a more responsible and organized person because I have always been tidy and never sloppy. Furthermore, I also volunteered at Gabe P. Allen Charter School. I had the honor to help out creating events for the kindergarten to second grade students. For instance, I helped out during the Christmas Festival by taking pictures and passing out pastries. I even decorated the auditorium. I experienced the joy the kids bring to the teachers because even though the festival was not very successful, the point was to make the kids
