A Gift for the Teacher and Students Gift- giving is defined as something given voluntarily without payment in return, as to honor a person or an occasion or to provide assistance. Psychologists found that giving gifts is a surprisingly complex and important part of human interaction, helping to define relationships and strengthen bonds with family and friends. Indeed, they say it is often the giver, rather than the recipient, who reaps the biggest psychological gains from a gift. This was proven true as I spent time making and physically giving presents to my teacher and students to remember me by. The joy I got after is what made going the extra mile worth it. On the back, I created a word cloud, in the shape of an apple, with everyones names on it, including Mrs. Prioreschi's and mine. This is a cute way for all the students to look back, years from now, and remember all their classmates and memories made with them. I wanted each student to have a tangible idem that does not just disappear right after I give it to them or considered “junk.” More importantly, I did this to remind each one of them that they all take up a special place in my heart; the pictures say it all. The expression on their faces after I gave them the presents meant the world in itself to me. I got a wide range of responses from “I am never taking this off my desk” to “I am going to sleep with this picture frame.” Knowing I have made someone’s day, made my day.
