After George Bush had left his presidency almost five years ago on January 20th, 2009, the former president's decisions are still being discussed about. This controversial debate about Bush's actions will either place him as a "James Buchanan" or as a "Theodore Roosevelt". When much light is shined on Bush's advances to America and countries of the Middle East, he is easily witnessed as a modern Roosevelt. Theodore Roosevelt sated: "The only man who makes no mistake is the man who does nothing." Bush had faced strong criticism for his work; however his contributions surpassed his errors. These contributions can be viewed as the 43rd American President was able to liberate both Afghanistan and Iraq which brought fundamental freedoms to millions; he had increased the Middle Eastern countries’ GDP, and brought rights to girls which suppressed strong social barriers. Based on information from George W. Bush's memoirs, Decision Points, along with additional data, the U.S President will be vindicated over history as he was able to bring forth democracy in the autocratic governments of Afghanistan and Iraq.

George W. Bush’s engagement of liberating Afghanistan and Iraq were vital in preserving the lives of the citizens both countries and illustrates how he will be vindicated by historians. The former president conveyed his concerns regarding the newly established democracy in the country during a Press Conference: “I believe that freedom is the deepest need of every human soul” . Bush is correct for the decisions during his presidency as he was able to liberate Iraq from the authoritarianism of Saddam Hussein and liberate Afghanistan from the Taliban regime. Rules regarding voter’s eligibility illustrate how a political system is truly democratic. Elections are possibly the most systematic method of altering political power and Bush is acknowledged for bringing forth this governmental change. The president’s actions reflected the previous actions of Ronald Reagan where he had fought off Soviet troops with U.S funding. George W. Bush, the first president of the 21st century will be vindicated for bringing democracy and removing autocratic governments in Afghanistan and Iraq as Saddam Hussein had killed a large sum of the population and the Taliban and al Qaeda’s savage killing of the innocent.
