Every book has a purpose and there is several themes throughout each book. If you think about it, a lot of books that are in the same form of genre have a lot of themes that you can find that are similar, even if they don't address them in the same way. This semester of college english I found that 1984, Where She Went, and If I Stay all have many themes throughout them. In 1984, one of the major themes that plays throughout the whole book is technology. Without the theme of technology there would be no telescreens, which means no government watching over the people, no parties controlling you and your identity because they can't view what you're doing and many other ideas throughout the whole book. This book is the second to the book If I Stay. The beginning to Where She Went is three years after the accident. When Mia had woken up she decided that she did not want to be with Adam anymore because she just lost almost everyone she loved in an accident. She left to go to music school and within those three years she became a large cello player, and Adam had created a band that made him very famous.
