Australia is smaller than the United States which is located between the Pacific and the Indian oceans. Australia has been divided into six states which are New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria and Western Australia. Each state have their own characteristic. There are sixteen regions which located at the New South Wales and Australian Capital Territory. The population in Australia are keep increasing year by year. According to the information that I get from internet resource, it show that in 2014 the total population are 23.5 million. The average of the population from year 1960 to 2014 are 16.42 million.

This state produced around 27% of the Australia’s wine so this state is quite important to Australia. There are a few regions in New South Wales which are Hunter Valley, Mudgee and Orange. Hunter Valley divided into two parts which are Lower Hunter and Upper Hunter. For the Lower Hunter the soils are heavy and it is a humidity of the climate is higher. For the Upper Hunter it will be a bit drier. Mudgee is an interior area which specializes in red wines for example Merlot.
Victoria is also one of the states in Australia that produced around 15% of the Australia’s wine. Murray River, Rutherglen, Goulburn Valley, Yarra Valley are a few region in Victoria. Murray River is very important region for growing the grapes for the high quality wine. There are more than twenty wineries at Rutherglen and there are more than 150 years of winemaking history. Goulburn Valley is a place that with moderate weather. Yarra Valley is cool-climate region.
In addition, the state is Western Australia. The Western Australia is the country’s largest state and this state produce the high quality wine. There are two region which are Margaret River and Great Southern. Margaret River located near to the Indian Ocean and the well know wines in this region are Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvigon. As can be seen from the map (Figure 5), the Maribyrnong Rivers begins when the two major tributaries- Deep Creek and Jackson’s creek merge together, and then the river go through the Brimbank Park, downstream flows through suburban Melbourne before joining the Yarra River estuary on its way out to Port Phillip Bay. Numinbah Valley is an area and suburb approximately forty-eight kilometres south west of the Gold Coast, in south eastern Queensland, Australia. Numinbah Valley covers approximately 116 kilometres square¬¬. The area is in the south-east part of Queensland and is part of the Gold Coast Hinterland. Numinbah Valley is the upper catchment for the Tweed River.
The Tooma Valley is in south-eastern NSW, east of Tumbarumba and in the foothills of the Australian Alps. It is a fertile willow-lined valley today but was once covered with stringy bark, apple and yellow box and red gum, along with grass trees, Xanthorrhoea australis.

3.Case Study Analysis As the case study area of this report is the Redlands located in South East Queensland as seen in Fig.1, the main planning and management framework that will be assessed and analyzed will be the South East Queensland Regional Plan (SEQ). The SEQ Regional Plan is a statutory plan drawn up to assist regional growth and development in South East Queensland. The Purpose of the South-East Queensland Regional plan is “to manage regional growth and change in the most sustainable way to protect and enhance quality of life in the region” (SEQRP,2009-2031). The role of this regional plan is to reflect and inform state planning policies and priorities; it also informs other non-statutory plans such as natural resource management

Merri Creek catchment covers around 39,000 hectares and it is located north of Melbourne. The creek begins at the bottom of the Great Dividing Range near a small town named Heathcote Junction. It flows for approximately 60-70km south towards Port Philip Bay before it meets with Yarra River at Dights Falls in Abbotsford. The Merri Creek is one of the major offshoots for the Yarra draining water from a catchment. In the catchment, there are nine main tributary systems such as Curly Sedge, Edgars and Malcolm Creeks.

Wantabadgery Station is in south-western NSW between Wagga Wagga and Gundagai on the Murrumbidgee River. The original inhabitants of the area were the Wiradjuri people. They travelled in small groups over large areas of southern NSW hunting and gathering and often camped by the Murrumbidgee at Wantabadgery. The Aborigines called the area Pondebadgery.
