Numerous broad-minded individuals today accept the factor that every person, regardless of gender (personal identification of one's own gender based on an internal awareness), should be seen equivalent as their fellow counterparts in society. In spite of members of society being increasingly tolerant of the changing times, there are still issues faced by society towards the factor that all are not being treated equally. Although, in the current state of America it's at the most progressive time in the history of the nation, however, there is no denying in the fact that there are borders for gender equality that is present.

Oftentimes products such as a basic two bladed pink razor can run more money than the regular two-bladed razor. That overpricing towards feminine products are often labeled as “The Pink Tax”, which are feminine products that are subject to an added value of tax. The New York Department of Consumer Affairs revealed that young girl's clothes cost 4% more than boys' clothing, women pay 7% more than men for accessories such as tote bags and watches, 8% more for clothing and 13% more for personal care such as deodorant. Therefore, the revelation that the products are automatically labeled as “feminine” is subject to be costly doesn’t employ the factor that these “feminine” items don’t differ from “masculine” items. According to the article “Pink Tax’ Means Women Still Pay More For Goods and Services” by Nicole Zelniker, a journalist for USA Today, stated, “It doesn’t take anymore chemicals to make women’s deodorant than men’s deodorant. Part of the point is being able to take advantage of a group of people — in this case, women — by extracting more resources from them.” Nonetheless, Zelinker express that there is no difference in the likeness of products, rather, the only difference is the overpricing for the “feminine” due to its label for women.
