Gatorade: Trash I Throw Out

I never though how much trash I throw out every week. As in Gatorade bottles, snack packs, pizza container, other food container, and everyday use like glasses cleaner and cotton swab. I really got thinking in how much I throw out and how much other people throw out every day and how it’s hurting our environment by not recycling what we can in our daily life. I think people should start using plastic container that they could reuse, so that every time you buy pizza you don’t need to throw out a card board box or the one from the Student Center Café. Also start using plastic container for drinks so when you want to drink water or a cold beverage you don’t need to buy a paper cup. I mostly drink two Gatorade bottles a day. And drink one can of soda a week. Everything else is goes to the garbage. Like pizza containers, snack packs, other food container, glasses cleaner and cotton swab. So living on campus I only recycle Gatorade bottle when I can. I was surprise that I don’t recycle more often, I think I could recycle my pizza boxes, I also drink water out of a water bottles but I bring them home and get five cent out of it.

Yes, I do know about recycling in my town, you can recycle papers, plastic like milk carton, boxes, some mail, and more. On campus I mostly recycle Gatorade bottle and paper. When I am home I recycle everything I can. And my parents are big at recycling. The gather cans so that they could get five cents back for every can we drink. Which is great because at least we are helping the environment a little bit.
No I don’t really know where my recyclable and non-recyclable end up. I always thought that recyclable goes inside a factory and get separated by its category. And the non-recyclable goes to a big landfilled where everyone in the area garbage goes to and possible gets burn.
