Gambling has been around for more than a century, it was first developed by the Mesopotamians, then slowly gambling becomes a pop entertainment that is acknowledged and played by many different cultures as an income solution or ways to spend time with family and friends. Gambling has become a recognized social activity spanning to almost all the cultures and historical eras in recorded history (Darbyshire, P., Oster, C., & Carrig, H, 2001). Gambling was thought to be only a harmless game that everyone could enjoy, but in reality, gaming causes a lethal effect on the players, especially the younger generation that is most vulnerable to the effects of gambling. One study states that there are links for parents with a gambling problem are likely to affect their child development in life. Some of the development issues the child would developed are problems at school. The child will lose the ability to focus on school, because they are worry and stress out about what is going on at home, resulting poor grades, missing school, and acting out in school, because the child feels like their world is falling apart and they don 't know how to fix it, they also may feel angry at themselves or others believing that they are the cause of their parents sudden absents, resulting them to not likely to attend college, without a suitable education, the children are unable to get a proper job to support themselves, without a proper job they aren 't able to support themselves, resulting the child resorting to crimes as a way to support themselves. Children who are unable to support themselves will resort to crime, such as stealing money, identity fraud that could result in them ending up in jail or becoming a gambler themselves due to early exposure to gambling (Fong, T, 2005). The development perspective also tends to view children as innocent, vulnerable and essentially unable to make a serious decision or being able to authorize a consent to participate in research (Darbyshire, P., Oster, C., & Carrig, H, 2001). Many researchers argue that children under the age of eighteen years old may not be a reliable source when it comes to conducting studies based on how gambling affect the child 's development resulting them to become vulnerable victim to their parents ' gambling behavior. Children have often been seen as irrational and incompetent and as immature until they reach to maturity (Darbyshire, P., Oster, C., & Carrig, H, 2001). The reasoning may be because the children may not understand what they are going through and being able to express the emotions they are feeling to others while other researchers argue that children could be a reliable resource when it comes to understanding how gambling affect the child 's development and their well-being.
