GMO (Genetically Modified Organism)

My Controversy is about the benefits and risks of Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs). All of the GMOs are those materials/organisms that have had their DNA or molecular structures genetically modified using genetic engineering techniques. Most GMOs have in some way had their genetic structure altered some of these may be in the forms of plants, animals, bacteria and some virus’s. For instance, some vegetables/fruits as in tomatoes, apples, pears etc. have been altered to extend the shelf life of the vegetables, aiding in producing frost resistant genes that may aid plants in surviving freezing or unusual weather patterns which anti-freeze DNA genes from some cold and
A. Corn: Almost half of U.S. farms growing corn for consumption are currently using genetically modified corn. GMO corn has been linked to cause health problems that include weight gain
B. Soy: Soy is used in tofu, vegetarian products/meals, soybean oil, flour, and hair products soy has been modified to resist herbicides, bugs and drought.
C. One of top modified foods in the U.S. diet is canola oil which is derived from grapeseed through chemical engineering.
D. Dairy: GMOs used in dairy products contain growth hormones approx. one-fifth of all dairy cows in the US are modified with hormones.
