Why are relationships so important, no matter what age in time, culture, ethnicity, religion, or social status? Friendships and relationships in general are crucial. They are constantly sought after in one way or another. Why is it that we need these relationships and actively search for them? We start off with familial relationships and then we look for friends and most end up looking for and finding a spouse or mate of some kind. Relationships are important for growth, learning, maturity, and for the completion of another person. In the beginning of genesis God made man, Adam, but adam was not complete until God had made woman, Eve, as well. There was something that another human being could do for Adam that no other animal could do (genesis …show more content…
It could be that she could talk to him and have fellowship with him. It could be that she could help him in the things that god had laid before him to do. It could be that Eve’s presence brought him pleasure and happiness. The interesting thing is that God made man and women and didn’t just create one kind of being. God created to different sexes. So, yes, we search out friendships but we also search out a mate, in most cases one. A romantic relationship is somewhat different that a best friend. You can have a really close platonic relationship but there is something about a romantic relationship that brings two people closer to each other. Since friendship is a a part of a romantic relationship and a romantic relationship is not a part of all friendships, the broader subject should be addressed first. Within the class of friendships there are three different types of friendships. There are friendships of use, friendships of pleasure, and complete friendships. Friendships of use are people that are beneficial to each other in a useful way. This would be the friendships where: you are friends with someone because they are rich and always get you a really nice birthday gift, the friends that are friends just because one of them is better at math and is helpful, or the friends that are simply the other person's friend for the sake of the popularity that person gives
Aristotle considers friendship to be a necessity to live. He claims that no individual would chose to live without friends even if the individual had all of the other good things in life. He also describes friendship as a virtue and as just. Given the above statements on friendship, it is safe to say that Aristotle felt that friendship is something that every human must have in order to reach a peaceful state of mind. It has all of the qualities of good as long as both parties of a friendship are considered good. Therefore, the role of friendship in a society is to promote goodness between all parties involved in it.
Relationships, to me, are very important to have in your life. Some people may think of one of the most common relationships, which would be romantic. However, when I think of relationships, I personally think of the people around you. Anyone in your life has a relationship with you. These relationships aren’t always good, but they aren’t always bad either. In my life, the relationships I have are shared with family, friends, teachers, etc. However, I am surrounded everyday with “adult” relationships, team relationships, and more.
In actuality what are friends? Friends are individuals who are there for everything and make life worth living. In the article, “Friendship: The Laws of Attraction”, critic Karen Karbo proclaims friendships possess various correlations and factors which enable lasting relationships. There are many stages in which relationships have to experiences in order to enable it everlasting quality. The evolution from a common stranger to an acquaintance and finally to a best friend status requires many aspects to be developed within the relationships. The necessary components within any relationship consist of self-disclosure, reciprocity, intimacy, intuitive understanding, social-identity support, communication, supportiveness,
In conclusion, relationships are very important. Without human relationships a person can’t go through life. It is essential that people have relationships with others if they want to live a happy and full live. Relationships bring joy in times of happiness, and they bring comfort in times of sadness. Relationships with other people help shape your emotions. Not only that but other people are sometimes the best at teaching you things about yourself and the world, which is undeniably one of the most important things of
In life we have different types of personal relationship that were we communicate differently in order to fit their need. Such as people with low self-esteem, or just people who are going through some hardships in their lives. Communications is the way to get through to them.
They exist in states where it is without qualification rather, they are beneficial, or useful, to each other not for their own sake. “[F]or in the case of this kind of friendship the other qualities also are alike in both friends, and that which is good without qualification is also without qualification pleasant, and these are the most lovable qualities” (Nicomachean Ethics, 8.3, 1156b 20). You find someone lovable not because they are useful, or because they bring you something. You love someone for they are both pleasant and useful and above all good in themselves. Understanding this, friendship is an act of loving another, and not just being loved- gaining or simply finding gain as in the sense of loveable qualities of useful or pleasant- but rather finding something desirable and with agreement with your state of charter that allows you to find
From my point of view nowadays we are living in a free world and everybody has his rights and alternative choices , which mean he or she can choose his perfect friendship.
This friendship is based on the unconditional love for a person, not for what is being provided within the relationship. This kind of friendship possesses the same characteristics as siblings would have for one another. No matter what has been done or said, love will always be felt towards that person. Aristotle points this out when stating, “…their friendship lasts as long as they are good-and goodness is an enduring thing.” Unlike the friendships of utility and pleasure, Aristotle views the friendship of the good as being a permanent friendship. These friendships are long-term but also very rare. As the author speculates, the people amongst this category are hard to find and the relationships require a numerous amount of effort to be obtained. This bond differs from the others mentioned because the people in this friendship have the same assets of one another, making it truly a perfect friendship. No one is being used or taken advantage of, therefore creating healthy relationships and bettering the well-being of others in the
She doesn’t know this, but she changed my life. She was there for me when it seemed like no one else was. When most of my friends were dissolving around me and I just didn’t feel like I could do anything right, she was there, and she made everything seem okay. It didn’t matter that I was inevitably going to graduate with a GPA a tenth of a point lower than I wanted, or that my director told me that he was disappointed in me because I just didn’t seem focused lately, or that my other friends just weren’t talking to me anymore. It didn’t matter because she was there and she made me feel safe. She’s my best friend, and I love her and admire her for so many different reasons.
Friendship is an interpersonal relationship between two people that is mutually productive and can be characterized by mutual positive regard. My personal definition of "friendship" is a feeling or emotion expressed in such a way that another feels wanted and important, a relationship between a person or persons where everyone has some companion to talk to when their in need of one. I would define friends as people whom you can have several types of relations with and feel several emotions for that person. Someone that one might go to in time of need. However, friendships differ between people. For example, the friendship that someone may have between them and their parents would be different than the friendship they might have with someone their age. There are many different friendships that people have. Friendships can exist between best friends, friends, lovers, children, parents, siblings, and many more. All of these differ in some way.
A friend is someone difficult to find. A friend is someone you can always count on when times are tough. The dictionary's definition of a good friend is a person attached to another by feelings of affection or personal regard. A good friend is there when you are struggling. For example, when a boy breaks your heart a good friend walks you through it and offers a shoulder to cry on. According to Bree Neff, a good friend is someone who is trustworthy, doesn't talk behind your back, listens to your problems, gives good advice and tries to lend humor along with his or her support. There are also bad friends, those who pretend to care and then turn around gossiping and starting drama. Good and bad friends are all around you, involved in your everyday life. To find good friends you should look for such traits as being kind, trustworthy, loyal and dependable.
Friendship is a relationship that all the individuals can create by themselves. Though it is not a god gifted relationship like that of the relationship of a mother, father, sister, brother or any of the other family but still it is one of the best relations an individual can possess. People who have true friends consider themselves as the luckiest individuals on earth.
Friendship is the most wonderful relationship that anyone can have. Ideally a friend is a person who offers love and respect and will never leave or betray us.
