This show follows a Asian American family who moved to a mostly white community. The family owns a ranch themed restaurant. The narration follows the oldest kid who talks about his struggles growing up. The lifestyle of this show that is being promoted is that of a minority hence the title Fresh of the boat. In this show we see an immigrant family coming to florida to open up a restaurant. We see there kids who are actually born in america.
