Determined, Colonel Robert Gould Shaw led every black man and himself into the battlefield. They sacrificed themselves so all man & women could be equal. As a result, out of 1,515 men, 246 were killed, 880 wounded, 389 missing & captured total, this was known as the Battle of Fort Wagner. Black man fought for our country when they didn't even have the same rights as everyone else and after this war nothing hadn't really changed, so I think they died in vain. Freedom of religion is the right to practice whatever religion one chooses. According to, the Statistics in 2016, eighty-three percent of the majority of the Americans follow Christian religions. However, the other twelve percent, have other faiths, atheist, agnostics, don't care or don't know. Leaving the 5 percent Non-Christian Faiths, like Jerusalem's, Islamics, Buddhism, & Hinduism. In 1941, the military ordered ''white blood only'' donations for white troops, so they didn't have worry about other religions other than their own. Also, because slavery had not been abolished by president Lincoln , so therefore this freedom did not apply to them. Now, thanks to this freedom, Army's have improved and Army programs are available for all cultures and ethnicities. Also, a Muslim police officer who says he was suspended during the fasting month of Ramadan for refusing to shave his one-inch beard. If you didn't know, Ramadan is the ninth month of the Muslim year, during which strict fasting is observed from sunrise to sunset it is forbidden to shave your beard at this time. Additionally, In 2011, he was required to sign a form agreeing not to wear his beard longer than one millimeter, but he continued to wear it longer and was fired.Therefore, his boss violated his first amendment.
