For a long time ago, we have heard many things about slaves and slavery system. Most slaves always were beaten up and abused by chattel slavery system. According to autobiography of Frederick Douglass, Life and Time of Frederick Douglass, is stories about his life and his trying to be a freeman. Most American always know Frederick Douglass, an Africa- America slave who escaped from slavery to struggle to end slavery system that nobody can be brave to perform. Life and Time of Frederick Douglass is a wonderful autobiography that can touch to most reader’s heart to understand about slaves and slavery system. Abolitionist is a person who favors the abolition of a practice or institution, especially capital punishment or (formerly) slavery. One by one, Douglass showed his readers the process of chasing his dreams and how he was introduced to abolitionist or slave systems. Firstly, after moving to New Bedford, he found a job, made money, and it was belong to him. He read the Liberator which edited by William Lloyd Garrison and published by Isaac Knapp. He got a passionate about the Liberator. He started to join all the antislavery meeting. I supposed that he wanted to see more people, and got more knowledge about antislavery work, and also attending at those meeting help to warm up his heart, and his belief. In 1841, Douglass got chance to attend in this convention that was organized by Mr. Garrison and his friends. Surprising, he was invited to speech some words by Mr. William C. Coffin, a prominent abolitionist in early day. He was nervous and worried when he told his slaver story. However, the listeners were interested, understood and sympathized with him. He got successful to introduce to the world of abolitionist. He got an entrance to his new life with a strong hope that freedom might soon be given to many people who under bondage of slavery. After that, he gave more time to focus on his education, and Douglass writing skill brought him to some abolitionist leaders. That was a big step for his life. From events above, Douglass showed readers that he was from a slave, a reader then an abolitionist. With his speaking skill and his intelligence, and knowledge, he tried to spread his information, try to get people and attention from other people. In 1843, he was chosen by Mr. Garrison to assist him in his work. Douglass and his friend got a lot of difficult during the conventions.
