With the Great Depression and World War II back to back, one of America's best President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, also known as “FDR,” managed to still help guide America through a huge economic crisis, as well as its greatest foreign crisis. FDR’s Presidency was unique and rare, he took office while America was in a terrible disaster with its economy. With Roosevelt's confidence and enthusiasm he helped bring out a new beginning of America’s recovery and lead America to victory with World War II. With Such difficulties to face, such as the Great Depression and World War II, Roosevelt steered America through its tougher times. Because of that, people value his Presidency, who he was and when he passed away, and how massive the impact was on America. Born on January 30th, 1882, Franklin was born into an affluent family. Throughout school he was more interested in academics; rather than athletics. He wanted to please the adults, as he got along better with adults rather than people his own age. While he was in Harvard he decided to study law but later on he stopped because he thought it was restricting. According to Biography.com, “In his last year of going to Harvard, he became engaged to Eleanor Roosevelt, who happened to be his fifth cousin and a niece of Franklin's idol, Theodore Roosevelt (Biography.com)”. In 1910 he had the chance to run for Roosevelt ended up being the only President to be elected for four terms as he served during a difficult time. He could have easily given up and decided he didn’t want to help anymore, but he decided to stay and fix the problems. And just like JFK, people adored him because he would never back down from a
